An early look at 2014 Barolo and 2013 Brunello

The 2014 vintage in Piemonte is much discussed, not least because of the terribly wet, gloomy start to the growing season. The 2013 vintage in Montalcino was also very challenging for growers initially.
So when London importers Vinexus, the company founded by Nicolas Belfrage MW, the patron saint of Italian wine in the UK, invited me to come to their offices in early November to taste 2014 Barolos and Barbarescos and the 2013 Brunellos from the producers they represent, I jumped at the chance.
