Behind the scenes at the Judgment of Paris re-run

Okay, here’s the inside story of the famous Paris re-run, if you’re not thoroughly bored with it all by now.
It was not the first re-run (these have happened before) but it was the first major one organised by Steven Spurrier, the 1976 organiser, himself. The re-run, starting simultaneously at 5.30pm in the UK and 9.30am at Copia in the Napa Valley was originally scheduled for Waddesdon Manor, Lord Rothschild’s country pile well outside London, Lord R presumably seeing it as usefully underlining the connection between Waddeson and wine.
