As is clear from the rainfall diagram in Bordeaux 2014 weather report, the southern Médoc (Cussac was the location of the weather station here) suffered much more rain in July and August than further north (Begadan). But at least I found the Margaux wines I tasted blind under UGC auspices generally more luscious than the Pessac-Léognans shown the previous day – and, as in St-Émilion, far fewer properties seem to be overdoing the oak and extraction.
