The big story about the Médoc in 2015 was the relatively dramatic contrast between pretty low rainfall from August to October in the southern part of the region and the high rainfall in the northern Médoc, where all the wines carrying the simple Médoc appellation come from. But even the basic Médoc appellation fielded some charmers in 2015. Nothing stunning, of course, but quite a few scores of 16.5 – and I think it would be fair to say that all of these are likely to be GV (good value)....
