This year’s tasting of the so-called Selezione Brunello 2015s showed that the category is morphing from a special selection – of the best grapes or the best casks – into a single-vineyard one. More and more producers opt for the latter because of the premium price paid for single-vineyard wines, which is climbing steadily. In the process, these so-called cru wines have begun to overshadow the Riserva category...
