Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier lives in one of the most atmospheric houses on the Côte d'Or. The Château de Chambolle-Musigny, almost embedded in the Côte behind, is pictured here by sommelier James Fryer.
I was very lucky indeed with my tasting of de Montille wines (and those of the Château de Puligny-Montrachet, where Étienne de Montille is also in charge – lots of big barrels and no more than 20% new oak).
