Canadian and not-so-Canadian wine

Had a wonderfully warm welcome from Canadians in the near-zero temperatures of Toronto, and only one question among scores along the lines of “why have you devoted only one paragraph to Canadian wine in the OCW3?” (Turned out he was looking at the appendix.)
Am just about to go and taste scores of Canada’s best wines so for the moment I can’t offer much useful judgment of the country’s wines but the only slightly shocking thing I encountered was at Summerhill, the LCBO monopoly’s flagship wine store.
