A world-first complete vertical of Pol Roger's top cuvée.
When the 1975 vintage was launched in 1985, Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill immediately joined the ranks of the most prestigious names in Champagne. The wine's namesake was a well-documented drinker of champagne, and Pol Roger was his favourite house – as Julia relates in this 2016 article.
To date, 20 vintages have been released, most recently the 2013 (2015 will be next), which is a manageable enough number for a vertical tasting. Accordingly, I assembled either one magnum or two regular bottles of every vintage for a grand tasting at 67...
