Gruaud Larose – back to 1964 via some high and low spots

Here are notes from a partial vertical of the grand vin and second wine of Gruaud Larose, mainly made up of wines organised by Caves de Pyrène in London last week. It showed just what a stunning wine the 1982 is and what great value the 1997 Sarget de Gruaud Larose is for current drinking. There is much more Cabernet in Gruaud nowadays for Georges Pauly, who has made the wines since 1978, planted it quite enthusiastically.
They also have a joint venture in China and of course in British Columbia in Canada where they produce by far...
