Italy's unusually soggy spring

Rains that (almost) never stopped are reported in Italy.
12 June 2019 Piero Lanza of the Poggerino estate in Gaiole in Chianti reports that the whole of May was cold and with lots of rain and the vines refused to show any growth. Only during the last seven days has the weather become more stable and the vines have begun to ‘run’. Last year flowering happened on 27 May, which is normal.
