More 2005 burgundy tasting notes

CHANSON, Beaune
I remember when Chanson was a fairly lacklustre Burgundy negociant making particularly lightweight wines but since Bollinger took over the company there seems to have been a very dramatic upgrade in quality. I was most impressed by this range, tasted in London as cask samples at the end of February.
Chanson, Clos St Jean Premier Cru 2005 Chassagne Montrachet 17 Drink 2008-12
Scented nose reminiscent of liquorice – really quite rich. Very full and lively with masses of opulent fruit and a good mineral undertow.
