This is the first of several reports by our estimable Italian specialist Walter Speller. We intend later this week to publish his review of the most recently released Rosso di Montalcinos, mainly 2012s, which can offer much better value in many cases than Brunellos. We'll follow this up with his overview of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2011s – and then next week look at the delightful Barolo 2010s.
