Shortly after I wrote my recent cri de coeur about Muscadet, I was magically invited by the local promotional body to visit the region. Look out for my forthcoming articles about the much underrated wines of the Maldives, Hawaii and the Bahamas.

So with my shining armour duly packed, I flew to Nantes earlier this month, curious to see both how bad it really was, and how good it really was.
