Nahe and Württemberg 2017s

Every year in Mainz on the last weekend in April, the German premium wine growers’ association, the VDP, hosts a first comprehensive show of the new vintage. Since almost 200 members show around 2,000 wines, tough choices have to be made as to which wines to taste. Some regions are obviously more important on the export markets than others, but always featuring the same wines and regions automatically denies others the chance to become better-known. Compromises have to be made.
