New winemaker for Cape Mentelle at last

After a hiatus following the departure of long-term winemaker John Durham from Cape Mentelle, the LVMH subsidiary will take on Rob Mann as head winemaker from early December. This nicely completes a circle for Mann, currently senior winemaker at Hardy’s Tintara winery in McLaren Vale, who is the grandson of Jack Mann, Western Australia’s iconic winemaker who made no fewer than 51 vintages for what is now Hardy’s WA flagship Houghton between 1922 and 1971 and after whom Houghton’s delicious and often subtle flagship Bordeaux blend is named.
