New Zealand broadens its appeal

New Zealand may have experienced a grape glut that has seen basic commodity grape prices plummet and a distinct softening of retail prices, especially those of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, but the country's winemakers continue to prove that they can now offer far more than Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.
The nearly 100 tasting notes below were taken at a showcase of new releases in London in November. I'm afraid that with so many enticing aromatic whites, Chardonnays and Syrahs on show, I gave the 100-odd Sauvignon Blancs a miss, tasting only about four of the most notable. It's good to see...
