A quick flip through today’s Harpers and Off Licence News reveals the following:
- The value of wine sold through UK supermarkets and convenience stores fell for the first time in over a decade in the first four months of this year. Although no single retailer will corroborate this (every one of them is doing brilliantly apparently), I assume this is the first sign that all these discounts and promotions on wine are actually having a negative effect on total turnover.
