Our series of Monty Waldin's profiles of leading New Zealand wine producers continues today with Te Whare Ra in Marlborough. Monty is the author of Monty Waldin's Biodynamic Wine Guide 2011 (sold via www.lulu.com).
This is the oldest small winery in Marlborough, having been established in 1979, and it has the oldest vines in Marlborough as well. The Flowerdays bought the winery in 2003 when they moved here from Australia. Anna is from the fifth generation of a grape-growing family in McLaren Vale and worked as a winemaker at Hardys.
