Registering brand names in China

23 Jul - Better news for Castel, and others, is that its subsidiary Barrières Frères, jointly owned with Suntory of Japan, has been allowed to retain the trademark Grand Bateau in China, and Ch Ausone has also been allowed ownership of Chinese symbols spelling Ausone – despite these having been registered by a Chinese national, presumably in the hope of selling them back to the French.
