Sales of fine German wine soar in the UK

It would seem that at long last good quality German wine is making an impression on the UK market. AC Nielsen sales data shows that retail sales of German wine above £6 have grown dramatically (+89%) in the last three years, well above the general increase for wine sales in this price bracket (+16%) in the same period – although I have a nasty feeling that the base for this first percentage increase is still relatively small.
