Screaming Eagle squawks to new owners

Lots of mutterings about just how much money founder Jean Phillips  may have garnered from the sale of her Screaming Eagle brand and vineyard (photographed by Julia last week) but, unusually for me, I think she deserves it. I first met her when she was still fully immersed in her day job, a realtor in St Helena. She kindly offered to show me round the Napa Valley real estate scene – in fact you can see her showing me the gardens of, I think, Spottswoode in the Merlot programme of our BBC series and dvd Jancis Robinson’s Wine Course....
