Thresher’s £9.99 champagne

So much for a shortage of champagne. Thresher, Britain’s largest surviving high street off-licence chain, was advertising Dubois-Caron NV champagne, apparently reduced from £19+ to £9.99 yesterday so I picked up a bottle from my local branch to check it out.
To be honest, I was expecting the quality to be dire. There are few wines worse than poor quality cheap champagne, which exists in profusion.
