Will DOC Sicilia succeed?

On my recent visit to Tasca d'Almerita's estate in Sicily, I was keen to discuss the brand-new DOC Sicilia. As reported in Sicilia DOC, the former Sicilia IGT was elevated to the higher DOC status without any of the stricter rules that normally come with this quality elevation. Assovini Sicilia, the association of some of Sicily's best producers, was instrumental in the genesis of the DOC.
