Here are some late arrivals to add to my list of German 2003s.
REICHSGRAF VON KESSELSTATT, MOSEL-SAAR-RUWER
Josephshöfer Riesling Spätlese trocken 2003 von Kesselstatt 16.5 Drink now-2006
Very full and ripe on the nose from von K’s monopol site. So massively alcoholic (13 per cent on the label) it almost tastes sweet, and there is a note of phenolic bitterness on the finish. Traditionalists would hate this with a passion; the German market probably adores it. It’s just a bit too hot for me but there is a lovely creaminess of texture.
