A first impression of Finger Lakes

Tai-Ran Niew, a refugee from the world of finance based in Washington, DC, who earlier this year reported on his trip to South Australia, is making the most of his current location and is just back from his first exploration of the Finger Lakes wine region.
To start with, I really miss the superb dry Rieslings from the Clare and Eden Valleys, so I am hoping to find a more local source. But, with degree-days during the growing season in the Finger Lake that on average are similar to those of the Côte de Nuits, and in warmer years...
