I’ve spent much of this week and last tasting German wine and am very excited about the 2005s and increasingly excited by the much wider range of wine styles now being made with real panache and passion in Germany. See Mould-breaking wines from five young German producers, for example.
I fully realise that between the American coasts there aren’t that many places where it is easy to sell fine German wine – with the notable exception of Chicago – but surely there is now a real head of steam in places like New York and San Francisco and beyond? And...
