A range of fine Rieslings and friends

At the end of January there was a meeting of Britain's Riesling Fellowship in Vintners' Hall at which David Motion of The Winery, wine writers Stuart Pigott and Hugh Johnson and I had to tell the story of our personal love affairs with Riesling.
The following 34 wines were shown before dinner. As you can see, most of them showed very well – as one would hope since presumably they were hand-picked. Note that they include some varieties other than Riesling, including a range of Spätburgunders (Pinot Noir). I found the one Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) on show was impressively racy...
