Many a wine enthusiast will turn their nose up at beer. I admit that it is not as diverse, complex or interesting as wine but there is, if you look for it, enough to arouse some interest in even the most committed wine devotee. A rich hunting ground is Belgium and I have been writing tasting notes on their beers since landing in Bruges for a winter more than 10 years ago...
