Dear D,

This isn’t going to be easy, for either of us. You and I, we’ve been through so much together. There’s no good way to say this … D, I’m so sorry, but I’m leaving you.

I always thought we could solve our problems, but they turn out to be insurmountable. God knows I tried. But the thing is, it’s Them. You know what They’re like. I can’t ignore what They’re saying. And They’re saying you’re no good, D. They say you’re going to bring me down.

It’s such a shame. We’ve got to know each other so well...
