These 90 tasting notes on Austria’s signature varietal (yes I do mean varietal not variety) are an amalgam of those taken by me at a tasting on Jan 18 and those, suffixed (JH), taken by Julia on Feb 22, both tastings in London.
The 2005 vintage may not have been wonderful for Grüner Veltliner, but there is general agreement among the producers that 2006 is a great, though small, vintage. Julia reports that the wines she tasted certainly confirmed that, even though most of the 2006s...
