A ‘fertile hunting ground’ is how Jancis described Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux in her article last week on Nine affordable, drinkable red bordeaux. And so it has proved to be for Louis Mitjavile (right), son of my favourite stream-of-consciousness thinker and orator François Mitjavile of Ch Tertre Roteboeuf in St-Émilion and Roc de Cambes in Côtes de Bourg.
Louis and Caroline Mitjavile bought Dom de l’Aurage, previously known as Ch Cadet, in Saint-Genès-de-Castillon in 2005 but the first vintage when they were in control of everything was 2007, hence this 10-year vertical tasting organised by their UK importers Corney...
