Minervois under sail

How many of you went sailing last weekend, I wonder? There must be so many
people who love both wine and sail. Here's someone who has cleverly combined the two.

Languedoc entrepreneur Frédéric Albert has started an initiative called Voiles et Vins. He has raised money to finance a carbon-free method of transport – a sailing boat – to ship wines such as the Minervois of Michel Escande, Ch de Gourgazaud and Domaine Chamans Hegarty to the British Isles from Bordeaux, initially to Dublin and then on maiden voyage in July and then on to ports further north. To find out more about this clever combination of two of the world’s most appreciated pleasures visit www.ctmv.eu/en/home.html
Look out for our selection of hundreds of tasting notes on current southern French wines – some of the bargains of the wine world – later this week.
