The Frenchman who encouraged me to brush my teeth immediately after tasting his wines, as described yesterday in The French adore..., was Gérard Bertrand, as portrayed here and in the short film below taken from the highest point of his Domaine l'Hospitalet on La Clape massif just south of Narbonne overlooking the Mediterranean.

Some of his wines are really rather good (and some pretty tooth-staining). As well they might be since he controls about 400 ha (1,000 acres) of top-quality...
