Oxford Companion goes Dutch, Chinese Atlas
An email from the world's most prolific wine author reminds me that we have a new edition of the third edition of The Oxford Companion to Wine out. Dutch publishers Spectrum recently brought out a Dutch version calling it Jancis Robinson's Wijnencyclopedie, about which Dutch wine writer Hubrecht Duijker wrote to me:
'The Dutch edition of your Companion of Wine has finally arrived, and gets a nice review on my website (in the 'maandmagazine' of November). It is a treat to read. Cees van Casteren and his team did a fine job. Congratulations.'
Now in my book, so to speak, this is high praise, for Hubrecht adds the following post script:
'I just launched another big, 1000,000+ words wine book, my 112th title. People told me that this must be some kind of a world record…'
One hundred and twelve books! And he has a website, and has made TV programmes, and a whole lot more. Quite amazing.
I wonder how many of them are in Chinese. My first (as far as I know) is below.
