The majority of these very varied 200+ wines were tasted at InterRhône’s atmospheric premises in historic Avignon. They put the call out that I would be tasting there one Friday at the end of November and that I was asking for samples from appellations other than Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueyras, which I was able to taste in those villages themselves.
The result was that they were so overwhelmed by samples that I had to make a selection and it therefore made sense not to taste blind...
