The British wine trade is holding its breath to see whether there really will be an Oprah effect on wine sales as a result of a new wine segment on Richard & Judy, the popular Channel 4 afternoon show, which begins this Friday 05 nov and continues each week up to Christmas. When this unlikely but much-watched married couple started a book feature, à la Oprah Winfrey, the publishing business benefited from a huge upsurge in sales of the recommended titles. Will the same be achieved for wine sales by the planned series of segments filmed with various producers...
