Richard and I shared this tasting organised for wine writers by one of the UK's most successful supermarkets. Their wine department has recently experienced a small haemorrhage of staff but there were quite a few wines of interest here. Search for GV to spot the best bargains.
Like their great rival Tesco, Sainsbury's are keen to look as though they're doing something about Britain's binge culture and have actually put some real effort into finding wines that combine flavour and vinosity with relatively low alcoholic strength.
