Those of you who read about my Classic claret tasting last week in Davos might like to know that the bargain of the lot was the Ch Branaire Ducru 1970 St-Julien which tied with Ch Lafite 1962 for third place in everyone’s affections.
Its basic price per bottle is less than a sixth that of the Lafite. Reid Wines may still have a few bottles left at £32.50 + VAT each. Peter Wylie lists it at £33 + VAT and duty. Winesearcher.com is citing 23 stockists in seven different countries with...
