Virginia wine showcase in May
Virginia Vintner's Table is a public event to be held 24-26 May at Virgnia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg (nearest airport Roanoke) to showcase the work being done for the whole state industry by Tech's enology/viticulture programmes.
Public seminars and tastings are designed to showcase Virginia wines, ranging from library selections to barrel samples from the apparently ‘outstanding’ 2007 vintage.
On the Saturday, well-known California-based wine writer Dan Berger will give a seminar on 'Virginia Viognier and Cabernet Franc' while Doug Frost MS, MW will speak on 'Varieties you've heard of but were afraid to try' (an intriguing title).
Details of the complete programme may be found here.
