Louise Hurren compares attitudes to women winemakers in France and China.
In 2018 on my first visit to Ningxia (widely described then as China's most exciting wine region), I was surprised by the significant number of women making their mark there as owners, growers, winemakers and consultants.
When I returned to Ningxia in September 2019 for the Asian Wine and Spirits Conference, I set up interviews with a number of these women, curious to contrast their experience with what I've observed as a PR consultant working in the French wine industry.
