Barbaresco 2018 – ready already

Perhaps not the most complex vintage, nor the most long-lived, but there is plenty to enjoy. Walter's picture of one of the more important crus above. Barolo 2017 considered tomorrow.

Pleasant and attractive – this is how I would summarise the 2018 Barbaresco vintage after having tasted 71 samples. Coming straight after the torrid 2017 in which yields were lower than usual, the 2018 vintage is more abundant due to plenty of rainfall during the growing cycle. The resulting wines are delicious and supple and truly perfect for restaurants, which should relish them.
