Give or take rather more coverage of English wines on this site than would be justified if I lived anywhere other than in Britain, I don’t think I could be accused of being jingoistic. However, on my travels in Chile I have always been struck by the huge respect that Chilean winemakers have had for their two most constructive champions among British wine buyers, Steve Daniel when he was head wine buyer at Oddbins (RIP) and Toby Morrhall of The Wine Society.
