Wine bulletin boards have been buzzing with speculation about who might be drafted in by Robert Parker to fill the large hole left by the decision by his assistant and heir-apparent Pierre Rovani to return to the wine trade. Italian specialist Daniel Thomases has already left The Wine Advocate team, leaving only our good friend David Schildknecht, who covers Rieslingland for TWA, on the masthead. Parker, now in his 60th year, has the big decision about who might write his burgundy reviews in particular – not to mention who might eventually carry the world’s most brightly shining torch...
