Bordeaux 2005 tasting notes – St-Emilion and satellites

The 120-plus wines described below include the greatest young St-Émilion I have ever tasted, Cheval Blanc, and some excellent wines that truly express the energy of the vintage such as Ausone, Tertre Roteboeuf and Valandraud. There should also be many likely bargains that are equally interesting embodiments of what 2005 has to offer, although since many of these properties produce only a small amount of wine and are not necessarily well represented on the international market, they may be difficult to track down.
