This traditional Japanese gate, a torii, was erected by Christian Moueix in the grounds of his Ch Hosanna dominating the car park for Ch Pétrus across the road. It is supposed to mark symbolically the transition from the profane to the sacred. Hmmm.
The 'new' team is fully installed and busy renovating Pétrus. A new bottle cellar is being built underground but winemaking will continue above ground: 'we want total control of temperature and humidity'.
