It’s always instructive to survey a Bordeaux vintage from the vantage-point of 10 years after it was made and a good eight years in bottle. I was lucky enough to have two chances recently: one big blind tasting of about 130 bottles straight from the châteaux organised by Farr Vintners three weeks after this year’s Southwold tasting of 2018s, and a more selective non-blind showing organised largely for the clients of Bordeaux...
