Late frosts in June to September affected production levels, especially for Chardonnay. Harvest took place from January to March with very favourable conditions for Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir and Semillon. Later ripening varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Tannat suffered from the high rainfall in the second two weeks of March, towards the end of maturation, though the few areas that escaped these rains produced good wines.
