Burgundy starts picking
Sunday 19 September 2004
Just in from Master of Wine and burgundy specialist [Morris & Verdin] Jasper Morris who is based in Burgundy:
"The Ban de Vendanges [start of the harvest] in the Côte de Beaune is today for reds and Wednesday for whites. The quality is potentially good IF your vineyards have not been
overcropped, trashed by hail or massacred by oidium [powdery mildew]. This will be one of the most diverse years for a long time in terms of results."
