Ferran on Chile – the South

In this article we will journey more than 650 km (400 miles) from southern, dry-farmed Maule around Cauquenes, Loncomilla and Sauzal (northern Maule was included in my article on central Chile), through Itata and Bío-Bío to Chilean Patagonia in the remote Osorno Valley in the south of the southern region known as Austral. (The infographic from my introduction is repeated below to help you locate the regions.)
