Gaja's anniversary observations

It was a treat to attend Gaja’s celebration of 150 years of wine production at Vinitaly (see Gaja’s 150th birthday – video), let alone to have the honour of being the only person on the stage other than all five members of the royal family of Barbaresco united in public for the first time. From the left were Angelo, his elder daughter Gaia, me, younger daughter Rosanna, wife Lucia and son Giovanni. It felt a bit like being on the balcony at Buckingham Palace (there was even a giant tv screen behind us, just as there is in the drawing...
